Tim Wyskida is a New York City/Berlin-based drummer and percussionist, most recognized for his work in Khanate and Blind Idiot God. He's also recorded and/or performed with Insect Ark, Caspar Brötzmann, Jodis, Plotkin & Wyskida, Azonic, Downriver, Khlyst and Ginnungagap. Current unreleased projects include a collaboration with guitarist Mick Barr (Krallice, Orthrelm) and a group with world-renowned taiko drummer Kaoru Watanabe & Grammy Award winning producer Marc Urselli.

All of Tim's groups focus on innovation, primarily in heavy music. Minimalism, maximalism, wide-ranging tempos & dynamics, accelerandos & ritardandos and improvisation are consistent aspects of his style. He started playing drums at the age of 12, studying jazz technique, learning how to read music and playing with a wide variety of groups including orchestras, jazz ensembles and rock/metal groups. In the 1990’s he turned his attention to composing and recording, after learning how to play guitar & bass and immersing himself in midi programming. In 2000 he became a founding member of Khanate, a group who works primarily with unusually slow tempos and in the moment timing. His drumming with the group has been described as caveman-like and mean-spirited. In 2001 he joined Blind Idiot God, a well-established instrumental, avant-garde metal and dub group. Dense playing, tempo changes and feel-obsession are central to the group's sound. Beyond playing a standard drum kit, he's performed live and in the studio on timpani, concert bass drum, gong, thundersheet and handheld percussion.

Tim has toured internationally and appeared on a wide variety of releases on Sacred Bones Records, Southern Lord Records, Hydra Head Records, Daymare Recordings, Indivisible Music, Load Records, aRCHIVE, Trust No One Recordings, Drag City, Misanthropic Agenda, Gizeh Records, Tokyo Fist Records, Poptown Records and others. He's performed live sets on WFMU and WNYU and is a long-time endorsee of Canopus Drums.
